This Viking rune stone was discovered in 1995 during the rebuilding of a collapsed dry stane dyke. One edge showing Norse Runes. This is a broken fragment of a group of words. The Sanday stone bears the name of the engineer Oskati or Askati. The final R being the start of the word ‘resist’ which means carved.
