Taigh Chearsabhagh Museum and Arts Centre

Taigh Chearsabhagh Museum & Arts Centre is a hub for people to meet, share ideas, learn new skills and experience exhibitions and events that are imaginative and stimulating. The island location and environment are very important to the work we do, the place, the Gaelic language, culture and heritage are part of our identity. We have regular visual art, moving image and heritage exhibitions, we have live music events, art classes for children and adults, writers groups and events and a new Education & Outreach programme. Taigh Chearsabhagh Museum & Arts Centre is a partnership between Comann Eachdraidh Uibhist a Tuath and the Uist Art Association. The two voluntary organisations formed Taigh Chearsabhagh Trust in 1993 and over several years have created a thriving museum and arts centre that has much to offer to visitors and the local community. Located in Lochmaddy, the main port of entry to North Uist, Taigh Chearsabhagh Museum & Arts Centre is located on the shoreline of a marine Special Area of Conservation. The sea and sky directly influence the artistic and cultural life of Taigh Chearsabhagh. Inspired by our unique island location we have a vibrant and stimulating exhibition, event and outreach programme going on throughout the year at Taigh Chearsabhagh.
